We had an interesting and eye opening talk by Jackie Kilpatrick about her life in couture from a self taught seamstress making wedding dresses, to creating whole wardrobes of bespoke clothes for some very important clients. Jackie also explained how the clothes built or rebuilt confidence in women who appreciated not only her skills in sewing, but the time and effort that she would put into every detail including the choice of buttons, which Jackie admitted was her favourite part.
