Book Group Update

Our book group continues to thrive, thanks to Colleen’s hard work, and is now heading into its 11th year!

Here is a list of the books to be read over the first few months of 2014:

January: The Summer of the Bear by Bella Pollen
February: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
March: Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand byHelen Simonson
April: The House of the Mosque by Kader Abdolah

If you’re not a book group member but like the look of these titles, let Colleen know you’d like to join the group!

Colleen has put together a complete list of everything the book group has read, since it’s inception back in 2004. Click here to see the full list.

And in book group news …

Niamh reports on last night’s meeting:

A good time was had by all.

Special thanks to all who attended – Colleen for her organisational skills and her able Deputy, Pat, the provider of fabulous fizz – (you had to be there!)

Oh, and the book – The Hare with Amber Eyes by Edmund de Waal which scored 7.5 – a worthwhile challenge.

Book Club

Did you know that the Crowlas & Ludgvan WI Book Club has been going strong since 2004!? That’s over nine years!

During that time, they’ve read a huge variety of books, from Dan Brown to Barack Obama to Radcliffe Hall to Nancy Mitford. That’s quite a range!

Ladies, might there be a big 10th anniversary celebration next year?
