Once again the weather was perfect for the circular walk from Scorrier. The countryside looked very fresh with wild flowers and new growth on the trees.
We were delighted that 3 members and 1 husband joined us for the first time – hopefully this will encourage more husbands, partners and friends to join us in May.
The 5 mile walk took us through woodland, farmland, small hamlets, past old mines and skirted industrial areas. The quiet roads, lanes and tracks eventually joined the Portreath to Devoran old tramway. Twice we crossed 2 high bridges over the busy A30 – a reminder of modern life! As usual we ended the morning with food and a well earned rest at The Fox and Hounds. (Report by Shirley. Photos by Pat)

The walk looked good.
Please will you give my apologies for tonight’s meeting? I fully intended to come but my Grandson is down from Cambridgeshire and is visiting us. See you at the bookclub on Wednesday. Pat x
